Dear Mead Families
Throughout the term the Mead
children have loved playing in the big muddy puddles in the outdoor area. To
celebrate International Mud Day on Monday the 29th of June the Mead
Room were asked to bring along their rain jackets and gumboots. The children
were itching to get their gumboots dirty and were yelling and shouting as we
made our own squelchy mud puddles.
Once
the mud pile was ready the children raced in the jump and play in the puddles. Some
of the children picked the mud up with their hands and squeezed it through
their fingers.
We spoke about how we felt when we jumped in the squelchy, gooey muddy puddles. These were some of our responses:
Abi
– I was happy
Lachlan
– Very, very excited
Charlie
L – Holding it was yucky
Eloise
– I stood in the mud. I felt great!
Wilbur
– We were stepping in the muddy puddle with all of the friends
Ned – We had rain jackets so we don’t get mud on us
Seb
–I liked the puddles, jumping in the puddles
Maxime
–Jump in the muddy puddles
Benji
–Jumped in with my gumboots
The
children thoroughly enjoy playing in the muddy puddles for the rest of the day.
Some were unsure about the mud to begin with, but once they started playing in
the mud it was hard to stop!
