Angwin

Dear Angwin families and friends,

The first week of the Winter Holidays has been a busy one for the Angwin children.

Starting off, the children engaged in making musical jars and bottles by filling different glass containers with varied amounts of water and colour.

"Whoah! This bottle with more water sounds different than this one with not much water", Arwyn noticed.

"They all make a lovely sound if you hit them together", Sebastian added.

We also had to conduct a survey on which soup we would cook on Tuesday. It was between pumpkin and vegetable soup.

The children cast their votes and pumpkin soup was the favourite. We know this because we put all the votes in a graph.

"The pumpkin soup has got a taller pile than the vegetable soup", Anthony explained.

We wrote down a recipe for pumpkin soup complete with a list of ingredients, tools and method.

The children had fun preparing the veggies by chopping and washing them as well as EATING them.

"This is good practice for me because I want to be a chef when I grow up", Anthony quipped.

"I am training to chop veggies too", Sujay added.

"Some pumpkin are soft and others are hard to chop", Elliot said.

The highlight of our week is of course our Pyjama Day Party. Children came in their favourite PJs, blankets and pillows.

They engaged in fun circle games, made forts and tents and ran races on the oval before enjoying a movie and nice warm cup of chocolate drink with marshmallows.

Paddington was indeed a movie the children enjoyed a lot. The game "who stole the cookie from the cookie jar" has been a huge hit too so don't be surprised when you hear your child chant to it.

All in all its been a lovely start and we can't wait to have more adventures in the next two weeks.

Please continue to pack gunboats and raincoats for your children for the wet weather.

On Wednesday, we will be joining the OSHC students to watch Bongo and Congo of the Drumming Monkeys. We are looking forward to it already.

See you next week
