Mattingley

Dear Mattingley family and friends,
It has been a busy week for the Mattingley children. Making the most out of this week’s sunny moments, we spent a lot of our days outside.

On Monday we took the children out to the back oval and cricket nets for an explore and a run around. We had a great time checking the pole holes to see how much rain had been caught inside them, causing splashes when the blocker would be dropped back in.

On Tuesday, we enjoyed a class discussion on cows and the process of milk production; cow to supermarket shelf. To finish off the discussion we mixed chocolate or strawberry nesquick to our milk, which everybody loved.
On Wednesday, our plan was to visit the Red Centre, however the main courts were being used so we relocated to the squash courts with a whole load of basketballs. Once our time there was up, we made our way up to the top oval for a run around and play on the playground with our friends from the Cooper classroom.

On Thursday we tried our luck with another visit to the Red Centre with our Mead friends. We had the whole main courts to ourselves and ran around with footballs, basketballs and anything else we could get our hands on! We loved sitting on the court dividers pretending they were trains. Choo choooo.

To conclude our week we all helped Miss Bowden shuffle around our classroom set up to prepare for next week. Some of us did some planting with our student teacher Ms Accor.
Next week the children will return to their school clothes and we will spend a similar amount of time outside, exploring the school grounds as well as visiting the Red Centre some more.
Friday July 17 will be pyjama day and movie day, so please come in your pjs ready to watch a movie and munch on some popcorn.

Love Miss Bowden and Miss Chloe
