Dear Mattingley families and friends,
We have had a fantastic start to our term beginning
our investigation into 'Marvellous Machines'. We started our learning
journey by brain storming what a machine is:
Trains are machines! They take people where they want to go- Liam
The trains have to have a thing to make the wheels go. My train
has a battery- Harry BB
A fruit machine makes fruit. then it goes to juice. then it goes
to fruit juice- Ashvin
I've got a machine in my home in my kitchen. It goes in circle to
make my milk get warm. It's a microwave- Poppy
They can help us. there was a chair lift it go up and down taking
us- Wolf
A washing machine. It washes the clothes if not they be all dirty-
Aksel
In the block corner with Miss Bowden , the children
began to wonder how cars keep safe on the roads. This lead them to taking a
closer look at a picture of a traffic light Miss Bowden found in the
Advertiser. Using paper, coloured pencils and blocks they began to create their
own traffic lights, discussing how they work to keep people safe. We look forward
to learning more about the marvellous machines that we use in our everyday life
next week.
Next weeks show and tell topic is: How I get to ELC.
We hope that you all have a lovely weekend.
Kind regards,
Kimberley and Coral
