This week in the Langley room we have continued
to discuss our unit of inquiry… Paddock to Plate. We have spent time making
yummy fresh home-made bread and even made our own butter by shaking cream and
marbles in a jar. Many of us were very surprised by the results and got a great
workout. The children have also enjoyed exploring a
freshly sheared fleece. We were able to touch and explore the fleece.
Miss Jess held up the fleece and asked the children
what it was and what we might get from a sheep.

Miss Kerry then showed us how to finger knit
with the ball of wool and made some beautiful bracelets for us to wear. Mr Rob
noticed what we were doing and told us how his wife Hazel uses wool at home to
knit hats He kindly brought them in to show us – how wonderful for us to see
the whole journey of wool !
We hope you all enjoy your long weekend.

Can we please just remind everybody to make sure
that their child is bringing a bag to the ELC each day. Their bag needs to
contain two sets of spare clothes and a drink bottle of water – Thanks!
