Cooper Room

Dear Parents,
The Cooper Room is a cooking master class. Jarrah bought in a beautiful pumpkin he had grown in his garden. Together we decided to use it to make yummy  Pumpkin soup. Kristian and Henry looked online with Mrs Lock to find out what we would need. The children washed, peeled and chopped all the vegetables and placed them into the pot ready to cook. The smell moved through the ELC quickly! A delicious warm cup of soup for a cold winters day.
“It tastes like pumpkins and potatoes,” Ammar
“I use this peeler machine at my Yia Yia and Papou,” Oliver
“Keep your fingers back!” said Edward using the knife
“I love pumpkin soup!” Jarrah
“Where’s the mashed potato?” asked Kristian
“It’s in the soup,” said Ammar
“The onion has an itchy skin, it makes your eyes water,” said Pauline

Our show and tell focus this week was Dairy. The children loved bringing in photo’s and item to share and taste. We all tried yoghurt, pink milk and a variety of cheeses – even smelly blue vein cheese. The children all noticed that some cheese were yellow and that one was white! Some tasted creamy and the blue vein was bitey and sour! We are so proud of the children for trying these new foods.

Kind regards
Susan and Coral
