Dear Wilkins families and friends,
What a great week we have had in the room this week. As it is
becoming colder each morning feel free to bring your child some gumboots to
jump in those muddy puddles with during our outdoor play.
This week our Wilkins friends have enjoyed exploring colours with
their teachers. On Monday and Tuesday Mrs Nicole spoke about colours with the
class. She brought in some white roses and put them in coloured water. We
watched them over the week change the rose’s colour into the according colour
in the pot. What a wonderful experience this was.
Following on our Unit of Inquiry being colours, we have also been
experimenting with mixing colours.
Hamish – “If you mix that and that you get a different one!”
Sebastien – “Now that’s Green Miss Ellen!”
Laura – “I want red!”
Zali – “Purple!”
We have also been painting to branch off from colours, which is
our Unit of Inquiry. We have explored drop paintings to mix colours and see
what happens. The Wilkins used verbal communication to explain what they could
see.
Hamish – “If you put two colours, there it’s another colour!”
Alana – “Look!”
We hope you all have a safe weekend and exciting weekend. We look
forward to seeing you all for our last week of term next week.
Lots of love
Mrs Carla, Mrs Nicole, Miss Ellen and Miss Sarah xxx
