Dear Angwin Parents and Friends,
We are continuing our journey into colour exploration and
have been discussing how colours can smell, feel and taste. We read ‘The Black
Book of Colours’ and then discussed how colours are not just for seeing.
‘Yellow tastes like lemon.’ John
‘And mango.’ Arwyn
‘Yellow tastes like sand. But you don’t eat it!’ Leon
‘Banana yoghurt is yellow.’ Angus
‘Yellow is fluffy things.’ John
‘Some yellow is hard and some are soft.’ Caitlyn
‘Yellow might be a lime tree.’ Louis
‘Red is like strawberry ice cream.’ Angus
‘Black makes me think of bins, rubbish bins. Black is a sad
and angry colour because of ware wolves.’ Angus
We then blind folded some children and put different scents
under their noses. Each child then explained what colour they thought of when
they smelled a particular scent.
The children enjoyed guessing what they could smell and it
was a fun experiment.
We will continue to discuss various colours and how they
make us feel as we finish up the unit over the next couple of weeks. We are
loving our Dancify sessions each week and can’t wait to show you all our new
moves!
Thanks,
Angwin Team
