Dear Edgerley, Chapple and Angwin families and friends,
We were so delighted to welcome the children back from their
long holidays and start year 2015 with us.
It was great to listen to the children's sharing and recollection
of all the relaxed, thrilling, fun and educational adventures they had with their families and friends over the break. These
conversations sparked new and existing interests which we incorporated in our planned activities this week.
Here is a list of what our week looked like...
....the children transferred their thoughts of summertime through
easel painting.
....lots of block building to depict the cricket big bash (the
ovals just looked superb)
....built sandcastles and decorated them with shells
....manipulated play dough to remember our trips to the beach
....played with dinosaurs and explored fossils from Ryan's sharing
about museums
....built and designed various marble runs
....built tracks, parking lots and speedways for match box cars (we are a bit excited for Clipsal already)
The hot summer days this week gave the children lots of
opportunities to engage in water play and were really keen to do lots of
measuring using containers, plastic bottles and funnels.
Next week, we will do more visits to the library and the RED Centre.
We would also like the families to send photos of your holidays so your
children can share them with the class. These photos will also be used for our
book compilation project. if you haven't got printed copies, feel free to email
them to crocca@staff.pac.edu.au.
Also, please ensure you pack labelled spare clothing for your
children so they can engage in water play any day when the weather permits.
Thank you
Mrs Rocca, Mr Ty and Mrs Nacca
