Dear
Langley families and friends,
We hope you have had a wonderful Christmas break.
This week has been a busy one!
The children have explored aspects of identity through role play and the dress
ups in the home corner.
They have spent time outside enjoying water play and creating marks with chalk
on the pavers.
Sebastian seemed to be on a mission "wait!" he explained while
holding his palm out to Georgia. He grabbed some chalk and held her foot to
trace around it. He was satisfied with what he had discovered and continued to
do this to more of his peers.
Phoebe used trial and error as she tried to balance loose parts, she then
investigated patterns placing the blue and yellow bottle caps on top of the
corks. "Two blue, two yellow. See." As she pointed to her creation.
Miss Jen spent time with the children building with the big foam blocks.
Phoenix had been rolling an electrical reel down the ramp in the workshop but
the blocks had been built in his path - he had a great idea to roll the reel
through the building. The curious look on his face as to whether his reel would
fit through was very interesting to watch, it quickly changed to excitement
as he lined it all up. Success! It worked. The children cheered him on each
time and enjoyed watching him.
This week we welcomed Miss Tayla our new Langley co-educator, who has spent time getting to know the children.
Next Wednesday will be Miss Emily's last day at the ELC, she will miss you all.
Thursday we welcome Miss Sharon, she has been working in the Mead Room for some
time in 2016 - the children are familiar with her face and will be excited to
spend more time with her.
Have a fantastic weekend,
Georgia, Jen, Tayla, Emily.
