Dear Mead families and friends,
Happy New Year!
It has been lovely hearing and exchanging
experiences together about the holidays but more importantly what Santa left
under the Christmas tree. It is beautiful to watch the children share happiness
as they play together after being apart for two weeks.
We started the week with a creation day. Tom D
suggested that we make a ‘car’, we gathered up an array of materials in order
for us to do so. We began with a big cardboard box that we cut out and painted
orange, we made wheels and head lights using paper plates and string to hold
the car over our shoulders. This was a great experiences for the Mead children
to use their imagination and creative skills.
William E, Ben, Alexander, Leo, Tom and Patrick
all took turns by mixing ingredients together to make play doh, we continued
the orange theme and have some soft orange play doh.
We celebrated Sidney’s birthday by indulging in
some yummy cupcakes!!!
The Mead children were very excited to walk up to
the big school playground. A highlight was the spider web climbing frame and
running roller. We all participated in running races on the big oval which was
lots of fun and a great release of energy. To cool ourselves down afterwards we
turned the outside rock water fountain on and splashed around in the cold
water.
Cooper – “I can run so fast, watch me.”
Ethan – “Me too, I have new shoes”.
Oliwer – “I got new shoes from the shops”
Melissa C very kindly face painted some faces. As
you can imagine this was a big hit.
Mikayla – “I want to be a tiger”
Yifan – “I want to be a pussy cat”
Sienna – I
want Hello Kitty”
On Friday we combined together with the Mattingley
and Cooper children to watch a movie ‘Despicable me’. We each ate a cup of
delicious popcorn that went down a treat. What a great way to end our first
week.
Next week we will be joined by Miss Georgia Boler who will be the new Mead co-educator for the next group of children moving up from the Wilkins class. She will be learning all she can from Miss Elodie and Miss Sharon. Please say hello and welcome when you see her.
We hope you have a lovely weekend.
