Hello Cooper Family and Friends!
The
children have been engaged in a variety of exciting experiences this week as we
have continued our Summer Holiday Program. While the weather has been a little
inconsistent, the children have had ample time to undertake both indoor and
outdoor activities.
The cool
mornings have allowed the children time outdoors to play sport, care for our
garden areas, search for treasure, and adventure through the grounds of Prince
Alfred College. The hot afternoons have allowed the children time indoors to
experiment with liquid fireworks, create Indigenous artwork, problem solve with
puzzles, and engage in imaginary play.
Here are
a few quick samples of some of the learning which has taken place over the
recent week:
- Xavier was exploring the garden when
he raised his hands, pointed to the sunflowers, and said ‘Too high! Too
high!’ In doing this, Xavier demonstrated his observational skills.
- Cody was running races with his
friends when he instructed them to ‘Wait until I say “Ready, Steady, Go!”
and then you can run.’ As Cody did this he demonstrated his ability to
effectively communicate expectations and rules.
- Karl was working on a puzzle when he
noted that ‘This puzzle has a missing piece!’ and then asked ‘Where can we
find it?’ As this took place, Karl was demonstrating skills in
communication and problem solving.
We look
forward to working with you next week as we begin to wrap up our Summer Holiday
Program, and thus begin the school term.
Thanks
again,
Mr
Richards and Miss Melissa
