Snapshots
from our week:
· The children have
continued to explore sounds this week – we have introduced a didgeridoo, drums,
tapping sticks, bongo drums and many more. It is amazing how much noise a few
children can make! Next week we will be creating a band stand so the children
can perform their new songs for their peers. If you have any old pot lids or guitars you are happy for us to borrow, please bring them in.
· Outdoors the children
have LOVED exploring in the puddles. They have discovered new ways to make the
puddles larger, deeper and experimented with different things that float and
sink. We shall explore this further in the room next week.
· A small group of
children have been tending to our sunflowers in the garden with Miss Bowden.
This week we have been using a new medium of ink water paints to create our
images of sunflowers. The children have loved the way the paints are so smooth
to use and float over the page.
· We have been playing
lots of music games and learning many new songs – a few just for our Dads. We
are starting to find the beat and play along with a variety of instruments. On
Friday a Mum from the Mead room played her gorgeous harp for us. “It will make
a loud sound because it is so huge,” said Jasper. We were all entranced by it’s
sweet soft sound and all had a chance to play the harp ourselves. Where will
our musical journey take us next?
Enjoy
a wonderful weekend.
