Dear Mattingley Families and
Friends,
What
a busy week we’ve had! With the Nativity performance on Thursday the children
have spent a lot of time practicing their songs for the big event. We trekked
up to ANZAC hall throughout the week and had a couple of practices on the big
stage. Everyone was very excited on Thursday morning and before we made our way
up to perform we warmed up our voices by practicing the songs for the last
time. The children put on a spectacular performance and we were so proud of
them. Thank you to everyone who came to watch. It was lovely to hear your
applause and words of praise.
In
addition to Nativity the children have also been making some Christmas
presents, painting Christmas trees and writing/drawing letters to Santa. Our
visit to the Library was also related to Christmas as we were read Pig the Elf.
Last week some of the
children hypothesised how long they thought it would take the moths to emerge
from their cocoons. To our delight we did not have to wait as long for the
first one as some had thought. On Monday morning, we discovered our first
little moth. More moths continue to appear each day and this has given us the
opportunity to revisit the concepts of lifecycles that the children have
discussed throughout the year.
Have a lovely weekend,
Cass and Liana
