Hello Edgerley Families and
Friends.
We have had an awesome week
in the Edgerley Room as we have undertaken the first week of our holiday
program. The children have been involved in a variety of experiences such as
racing hand-made boats down the river, eating our centre-grown strawberries,
running under the sprinkler, and experimenting with the texture and feeling of
glittery slime. The children have thoroughly enjoyed these experiences, as well
as others, which were created in response to their interests and ideas.
Here are a few samples of
some of the learning that has taken place over the past week…
- ‘I have this hammer-head
shark; it is diving in the water and sliding on the slippery ice.’ said Aiden,
as he confidently shared his personal knowledge with Ed while
playing at the Antarctic table-top.
- ‘If the marble gets in
the gap it will get lost. We need to build a bridge over the top of it.’
suggested Aston, as he problem-solved while building a wooden
marble run with Will P, Seb A, and Stirling.
- ‘Is this what a Dad is
supposed to look like, with a hat and a tie?’ asked Isaac S, as he
engaged in imaginative play with Lotti and Charlie.
We look forward to
celebrating with you all next week, as we share our final week together before
the Christmas break. We have plenty of Christmas activities planned for the
children, and we know it’ll be lots of fun sharing the joy and fun of the
Christmas season with them.
We would also like to ask
that all families ensure that their lockers are emptied of spare clothes and
art work before Thursday the 21st of December. After this date, we
will be cleaning and organising the lockers in preparation for next year. We
thank you for your assistance in this matter.
Thank you for your time, and
we look forward to seeing you soon.
Much love,
Mr Richards and Miss Gray.
