Dear
Cooper families,
We
have had a busy and fun week in the Cooper room this week. As a part of our
unit of inquiry on “Marvellous Machines” we are starting to deconstruct
household machines in the classroom. This gives the children an opportunity to
see inside different machines and unpack how the work. We currently have a
computer hard-drive and a printer on our deconstructing table at the moment. It
is great to see the children asking questions and discovering how different
parts of the machine move and function.
On
Wednesday while we were walking back from our fun filled PE session in the Prep
School Gym, many of the children noticed the new blossoms that were blooming
from the trees outside the gym. This promoted a discussion on the changes that
are happening in our environment now that spring is approaching. Our class decided to take a few sprigs from the
tree to bring back into the classroom and continue these discussions. The
blossoms have now been placed next to the painting easels to inspire the
children while they are painting. Many beautiful pictures have come from this
experience and the children have been very engaged with the process.
The Cooper
room will continue to look at the changes that occur during spring.
Reminder: Book Week
Parade Tuesday the 25th of August in the Town Square.
We
hope that you had a lovely weekend.
Kind Regards,
Maddie and Cris
