Dear Angwin Parents and Friends,
Welcome back! It’s going to be a very busy term with
Nativity and Graduation and lots of excitement with the transition to school
for many!
This week we discussed rainbows this week, when we learned
about the letter Rr. Some beautiful rainbows were then made by many. It was a
lovely topic to discuss and investigate. The class was very interested in
whether pink was actually in a rainbow or not. It is mentioned in the song, but
is it in a real rainbow?
‘Do you know that pink is usually the first colour you see
on the rainbow.’ Harry A
‘Red comes first in the rainbow.’ Spencer
‘Golden colour comes first. It like yellow. Did you know on
the side of the rainbow you can see the golden colour with little people
playing in it. They look like gnomes with little hats on their heads.’ Patrick
‘Did you know that there’s a island at the end of a rainbow
and there’s treasure under it.’ Harry A
‘Is there sand underneath the rainbow and when you look up
you see violet?’ Elijah
‘No, the gold is underneath.’ Patrick
‘I think red comes first and then orange and then green and
then yellow comes into the rainbow and then black and then blue.’ Agoth
‘Black doesn’t come in a rainbow because it’s a bad colour.’
Spencer
‘Black mixes up with all the colours so if black was in the
rainbow it would just be all black.’ Gabby
‘And if there was white in the rainbow it would take all the
room and it would all be white.’ Patrick
‘And there’s no brown.’ Lily
Is there pink?
‘Yes!’
‘And indigo and violet.’ Miles
‘Pink is in the rainbow because otherwise it wouldn’t be a
colour.’ Gabby
‘Brown and Black and white go into a rainbow they would turn
into only those colours and it wont be that beautiful anymore.’ Patrick
We sang the rainbow song and also explored pictures of
rainbows on the internet and in books. We even saw double rainbows!
Next week we have two incursions on Tuesday- a dance session
and yoga! For those attending PAC next year, there will also be a transition
visit to Prep on Thursday.
Please make a diary note now for the nativity in week six
and graduation in week 8. We can’t wait!
Thanks,
Angwin Team
