Wilkins

Dear Families,

This week we have been continued our exploration of light and shadows using torches in our dark classroom and creating images at the light table using a tray of rice and beans. This has been a wonderful way for the children to recognise the difference between light and shade as well as been a wonderful sensory experience.
We have also been interested in rubbish trucks and how they work, watching You Tube clips and exploring this in role play with the toy garbage trucks. We have been developing our listening skills at the listening station, following along with familiar stories and tunes.

The home corner has also been a hive of activity as we role play using chopping fruits and vegetables and a range of different types of play appliances. We have had chefs and cooks creating all sorts of different meals and beverages and have been discussing what Miss Sue and Miss Robina do in the ELC kitchen.
Outside, we have continued exploring water and mud in the sandpit (weather permitting) using buckets, spades, water, building blocks and greenery from the garden. We have also been developing our ball skills playing social games, enjoying time in our quite book nook and exploring cause and effect using the car ramp tubes.

Best wishes for a great weekend.

Karla, Amy and Jess
