Mattingley

Dear Mattingley Families and friends,

This week we have been lucky enough to have Bella Green, a year 10 student from Glenunga International High School, doing her work experience. The children have loved having her in the classroom and she has been learning a lot from us, especially all about frogs.

Speaking about frogs one of our little tadpoles has out grown his tail and has become frog. The children have been watching him swim closely and have begun to notice the differences in him now.

"He likes to go on the rock, not so much the water"- Angus
"He swims lots. He rests on the rock"- Eva
"He eats the crickets we have to put in his tank"- Harrison

On Tuesday we started a friendship that Miss White from the Cooper room gave us. His name is Herman and he is a sourdough cake starter. He needs to sit on our bench top for 10 days without a lid, covered with a tea towel.  We will need to follow the instructions that he came with closely because if he stops bubbling then he is no good. We will be cooking our friendship cake next Thursday, and we will make sure that all the children get a piece. Please feel free to come and have a look at Herman. He is in the green bowl on the bench in the classroom. We are all very excited to watch him grow over the next week. Thank you Miss White for passing your friendship cake on to us, we will make sure we take good care of him.

Have a great weekend,
From the Mattingley team
