Mead
The Mead children have enjoyed a variety of interactions with each other this week. We have had a real focus on social skills and team work. They have loved playing "Bug in the Rug" and "Duck, Duck, Goose" which have encouraged everyone to contribute and interact, share, take turns, exchange and communicate feelings. The group games have strengthened friendships which have extended to the outdoor play where children are playing with others they may not normally play with. It has been a valuable time for the Mead children to step outside their usual boundaries and extend friendship groups.
Best wishes,

Cooper Lately the Cooper children have been showing us how fast they can run now that they are starting to turn four. In the sunny weather this week we have enjoyed playing a crocodile running game outside. The children on the hill call out 'Crocodile, crocodile, may we cross the water to see your lovely daughter?' and the crocodile calls one person to run very fast to the fence across the river. Miss Sandow and Mrs Blake make very good snapping crocodiles! All the children can run quickly and work out ways of tricking the crocodile as they run past. It's lots of fun to play with all the class and have everyone join in (and good exercise too!).
Kind regards,

We have had a wonderful week making our own I Am book. We each have our own page and we are going to have a class book, so please read it if you find it on our book shelf! We have learnt some new songs - Tuna Fish, This Old Man and Buckle My Shoe. We have made the most of the beautiful weather and have really enjoyed playing on the big boys oval, chasing, exploring the big gum tree, having running races and playing games like Duck Duck Goose and Fruit Salad. Many children have been interested in making their names with the wooden letters, so we have made a self-registration board. Each morning when they arrive, the children can find their name and stick it on the board, then if they are interested they can have a turn at writing their name too. We only have one week before the holiday program begins, please bring in your child's portfolio so we can add their learning stories in.
Warm wishes,
Suria, Sinead, Rachel and Sue

Dear Edgerley Parents
Our trip to the South Australian Museum was a roaring success this Wednesday. We were able to explore, touch and discover. We thoroughly investigated the entomology collection in the drawers and held skulls and skeletons, We saw a giant squid and ventured through the underwater gallery. Finally we discovered a sleeping lion in the biodiversity hall! We enjoyed a picnic lunch on the grass and then all had fun rolling down the grassy hills beside the State Library. Then we walked back home (it was a long walk)!! But… what information did we discover?
“That the mummy redback has a stripe and the baby didn’t” said Francesco
“When you look in those binocular things starfish have bubbles on them” said Noah
“Giant squids have eyes on the sides of their heads” said Alexi
“Giant squids are taller than us” said Aggie
“Crystals can be big” said Luca
“Dinosaur bones can turn into fossils” said Hugo
“The museum has a collection of poos and they are called scats!!” said Mrs Nacca.
We saw so many interesting things that we can’t put all of the photos on our blog! If you want to see what we saw you will have to come into our classroom. Instead we are choosing to share the photo of what we looked like when we got back! Have a great weekend and a good rest!
