Dear Langley families,
Last week we enjoyed
an Easter Hat parade in which many children participated. Some children made
hats at home whilst others enjoyed making bunny ears at the art table. The
classes took turns dancing as they showed off their hats. The 2 and 3 year
old’s gathered in the Wilkins room to hear Miss Kathy tell the Easter story
before participating in an Easter egg hunt.
Several children have enjoyed
experimenting with the paint rollers this fortnight as we look towards
preparing another collaborative art piece. The rollers are a great way for the
children to practice their fine motor skills and learn yet another technique in
applying paint to a surface.
We have also seen lots
of interest in watching our monarch Caterpillars as they munched on the milk
weed and changed into cocoons. We have been reading the “The Very Hungry
Caterpillar” and now we eagerly await the arrival of the Butterfly. Fingers
crossed it happens whilst we are watching.
Grandies Day brought
lots of smiles as many grandparents enjoyed looking around our various
learning environments and spending time with their grandchildren. Our children
worked hard to learn their songs though some were a little overwhelmed by the
audience size and forgot to sing! Thanks to Mrs. Cooper from Angwin room for
arranging this event big and wonderful event. Thanks also to all of those who
attended and particularly those Grandparents who spent time with children who
could not have a grandparent there on the day. Lots of special moments were
captured on camera and we look forward to seeing the professional photos too.
Have a wonderful
weekend
