Dear Chapple and Edgerley families and friends,
The holidays kicked off with a very busy week among our little
people. The children worked with Mr. Ty making mini green houses inspired by
Jamie Oliver's garden collection. We revisited what we know about plants
and how to look after them. If your children took home a mini green house,
please remember to give a little spray of water. You might just be able to
harvest a few cress sprouts to add in your healthy salads. Taking inspiration
from the movie "Frozen" we learnt a few songs from the soundtrack and
froze Elsa's hands through a water play. Mrs. Rocca's attempt at making blue
berry jelly turned out to be blue berry icy juice. We reminded her to make
sure she gets the portion right next time! We still enjoyed sipping it thought.
We also got busy in the art and craft corner as we made tiara's, sashes,
armours and shields for our dress ups as princes, princesses and knights on
Wednesday. As we shared our favourite cold drinks, lemonade seemed to be the
most popular. The children thought it would be nice to make our own lemonade
and so we did! We brought some lemons, rolled them, did the 'squeeze and twist'
trick, added water, sugar and mint and voila! fresh and
refreshing lemonade in minutes! We also made a few trips to the oval and had a
few races. It was muddy but the children just couldn't resist it! We are looking
forward to more fun next week. Have a lovely weekend.
