The weather has been heating up this week, and so have our investigations through water play. A new creek bed has provided opportunities for the children to paddle and play as they wash cars, sail boats and get wet! We have also prepared for the hot weather ahead, making a collection of ice bricks to make sure we stay cool during the summer term.
As part of our Australia Day celebrations this week, the children made their own Australian flags. Everyone was eager to share their ideas on why we have Australia Day, and what flags are used for.
Roshan said “Different country people see interesting things and stayed in Australia.”
“We have different faces because we all come from differences places,” Louie declared.
Aadi told us we have flags “So the Indian people know we live in Adelaide.”
Thanks to Miss Kerry for providing us with the traditional Australia Day barbecue lunch!
Finally, a reminder this week to remember your child’s water bottle throughout the hot weather. We encourage them to drink regularly and are happy to refill the water bottles throughout the day.
Miss Eleanor, Mrs. Nacca, Miss Sinead, Miss Gray and Miss Sandow.
