Dear Families,
This year, we are supporting the Women’s Safety Services
SA Christmas Appeal and will be collecting presents for women and children in
crisis.
The Women’s Safety Services SA (WSSSA) is South Australia’s largest
domestic and family violence service. WSSSA is a non government organisation
and provides a range of services for women and their children who are
experiencing, or affected by, domestic and family violence. Their programs
support some in different contexts and include regional domestic and family
violence services, a South Australian crisis line, a state wide service for
migrant women and children, services for women whose partners or ex-partners
are attending domestic violence prevention programs, a national trauma
counselling served and a number of integrated approaches. Each year the WSSSA
support over 5000 women and children.
We would love your donations of new toys for children and
new presents appropriate for women in the shelter such as candles, hand creams
and body lotions, perfume, jewellery, purses and handbags, skin care and make
up items, photo frames and albums, note paper. Please place your items in the
boxes near the Christmas tree by Tuesday 5th December.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our young children to
begin to develop their understanding that there are many people in our
community that are less fortunate for them.
