Angwin

Dear Parents and Friends,
We have had another action packed week in the Angwin Room! There have been so many experiences that the children have immersed themselves in… so much social and co-operative play! It is a very exciting time of the year!
We have worked together to set up a worm farm. We had to read the instructions, assemble it and then set it up with the 500 live worms. Then we came together to set up the worms and make sure they get what they need to survive.

Harry H: The worms will make compost! I know all about compost!
Matilda: We feed the worms… we give them our food scraps.
Wolf: If it is too light they hide under the soil. They don’t like light.

Harry H: There are 500 of them… they will have eggs, then more little worms and then more bigger ones!
Sidney: When we tipped them in some of them hide.

Dominic: Some of the worms are long… they feel wriggly.
Harry H: There’s a tap so that we can use the worm juice on our veggie patch.

Our children enjoyed a lunchbox picnic up in the rainbow playground as part of our transition programme getting the children ready for school. It was a fantastic way for families to talk about sometimes and always foods and to work together with the children to decide what went in their lunchboxes.

William brought in some gorgeous roses for us to enjoy in our classroom. Together with Miss Bowden, Will helped to set up a painting spot for the children to paint the roses. They are looking beautiful!
The children also enjoyed a fun game that Kennedy brought in to play with us.. Cake Splat…. It was a fun one for outside and lots of the children had a hilarious time joining in!

We love our time together and have had a great week!
Have a lovely week!
