What a way to start the week with the Princesses Tea Party.
I hope the Mothers (and Dad), who were lucky enough to come, enjoyed
themselves. The children certainly did.
This is our last week with Miss Beagley. She has been a
wonderful addition to the classroom in such a short time and we will miss her.
As we move into Term 2 we will look to add some more focus
to Show and Tell. This week is the colour Yellow.
As an alternative, the children have also been looking at
oral storytelling and they may wish to tell a story- particularly a story that
has been told to them, not just a memory of something they have done or seen.
Grandparents are great for this!
We have been investigating tails and what they are used for.
We even made our own to see if they help us balance.
The wild weather also gave us opportunity to look at the
power of water and learn a new word Erosion!
Tate told us a wonderful story to go with a picture he had
drawn. It was told with such rich detail and fitted in beautifully with our
work into oral storytelling. Later in conversation with Tate’s father, we
discovered it was the story of Tate’s Grandpa’s life as part of the Stolen
Generation.
