Angwin

Dear Angwin Families

Angwin children were busy bees this week thinking about the seasonal changes that are occurring.

“I’m so cold this morning” said Scarlett on the way to gym. When we got back to our classroom the children wondered why all of a sudden it has begun to feel cold in the mornings, when previously every morning in Angwin was warm?

“It’s because it’s autumn” said Allegra

“Not my name Autumn. It’s because my Mummy and Daddy love autumn so they gave their baby name Autumn!” said Autumn

“Leaves change red and fall off” explained Leon

“The tree that has leaves fall off, that’s called deciduous. Daddy told me and it sounds like Desyllas!!!” said Scarlett

“It’s autumn because it’s windy” said Allegra

“Because it’s too cold” said Lucille

“Because it’s not summer” said Allegra

“It’s because it’s turning winter!” exclaimed Sujay

“It actually goes round in a circle, all the different time of the year, first winter, hot, spring, then summer” explained Leon clearly

“And don’t forget autumn” smiled Lucille

We collected autumn leaves and sorted and displayed them. We found a tree just outside the kindy that has begun to change colour…but you have to look up high because it’s right at the top!! We recorded what we discovered and are going to continue to photograph the tree to track it’s colour changes. Our big question that we are still wondering about is why? Why do they change? What a mystery!

Love the Angwin Team
