Langley Room

Following on from the children’s interest in body parts and bones, we have been examining some nonfiction books about the body and a mannequin of body parts. The children have proposed some interesting theories about the body that we are going to investigate further in future weeks.
“It’s the same, like wiggly worms” said Jackson looking at the stomach part, “the wee goes through the worms and down and down and down all the way out and into the toilet” he continued.
“There’s something in your brain. That’s what my Dad tells me” said Jack.
“My teeth are strong” commented Hugo Sen as he looked at the teeth in the body book, “I’m young cos I’m not tall now. I’m young, young like the other children” he suggested.
“I got a bone in my tummy” Erin commented.

If anyone has any x-rays, ultrasounds images or bones (!) at home that they are happy to share, we would love to borrow them.

Best wishes,

Jess, Kerry, Pippa and Ange
